Laser Dentistry

Lasers in dentistry have been proven to aid in the detection and treatment of oral disease. To date, they have been utilized for treating gum disease, detecting oral cancer, and pinpointing early stage tooth decay. They can precisely remove or treat painful ulcerations like canker sores or cold sores, and can even treat small cavities.

Our laser uses a specific wavelength that targets certain pigments (or colors) associated with inflammation, bleeding, and staining. Inflammation and bleeding are hallmarks of many oral diseases. Having this laser technology enables us to more precisely and effectively treat disease by killing harmful bacteria and removing diseased tissue without harming healthy tissue. Laser procedures generally result in less pain and bleeding, faster healing, and better clinical results.
