It’s Time for Your Oral Health Check-In

In our first August 2021 blog, we reminded parents about the importance of making sure their kiddos were ready for school with a healthy smile. While we do inventory and welcome another year of learning, the team at My Rivertown Dentist thought it might be helpful to do a little “refresher course” on proper dental hygiene and oral health practices. We know you know to brush and floss, but there’s more to it than you might think.

Different People. Different Mouths. Different Needs.

Under the expert guidance of Dr. Ashley Lee, we’re able to care for patients of all ages in life — no matter what your dental needs may be. In caring for generations of patients, we’ve found that, much like snowflakes, no two smiles are alike. You can opt for a traditional toothbrush that comes in all colors, with varying types of bristles. You can also choose an electric toothbrush, depending on what you need to keep your smile healthy. What about all the toothpaste options? We get it — it isn’t apparent. It’s always best to talk to your Madison dentist about your individual toothpaste needs so that you’re brushing more efficiently and effectively.

You’ve Got the Tools Now Put Them to Use

Now that you’re armed with all of the right tools to keep you and your smile healthy, let’s get to work and see how they can improve your smile. Start by:

  • Brushing every day, two times a day, for two minutes each time
  • Using small, circular motions and scrub each surface of each tooth
  • Flossing once a day in between each tooth and up under the gums

Don’t Forget the Dentist

One of the other things we stress at My Rivertown Dentist is the importance of seeing us twice each year. These visits allow us to detect any concerns like cavities, gum disease, or oral cancer early when they’re still easily treatable. From general dentistry to one-of-a-sleep apnea assessment in adults and kids, My Rivertown Dentist has your oral health covered that truly spans from head to toe. Based on Dr. Lee’s partnership with The Institute for Craniofacial Medicine, we can even see beyond routine smile care for our patients using special oral appliances created by Vivos Therapeutics to help guide jaw development.

Your Madison dentist has you and your smile covered. The question is: What can’t we do for your oral health? Schedule your next visit — today!
